The Parasaurolophus is a herbivore dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 76.5 million years ago. It was a Hadrosaurid, which meant that it had a duck-like bill and cheek bones that contained air sacs. It was a fairly large dinosaur, measuring up to 30 feet long and weighing up to 4 tons. The most distinctive feature of the Parasaurolophus was its long, curved crest, which ran along the length of its back and could grow to be over 7 feet long. Scientists believe that the crest may have been used to make sounds or to help regulate the creature's body temperature. Today, the Parasaurolophus is one of the most popular dinosaurs with kids, thanks in part to its distinctive look. This coloring page features a simple outline of this beloved prehistoric creature, perfect for little ones who are just starting to learn about dinosaurs.
